The Wake Forest weight room was renovated during the summer of 2015. Each rack was custom designed for Wake Forest Athletics by UCS, one of the best sports and recreational products manufacturer. Recently, the weight room was completely renovated to include a 200-foot chin-up bar, eight flat screen TVs, and Mondo flooring, a rubber surface that has been used at every Olympics since 1976.
Wake Forest basketball players work under the guidance of Director of Athletic Performance Ryan Horn. The players are put through a basketball specific program to increase their power, speed, strength, flexibility, and mobility.

In addition to the weights area, the athletic performance center offers student-athletes a full supplemental program from sources like Gatorade, Muscle Milk and Stinger Recovery Bars, which are also used by NBA teams. Fruit, protein bars, bagels, trail mix, Gatorade and chocolate milk are available to student-athletes.
Horn has designed a high performance training model that utilizes Omegawave, GPSports, and Polar heart rate monitoring systems to monitor performance, external training load, speed, distance covered, collisions, metabolic training load and daily readiness. The data collected from these athlete safety and performance monitoring tools is used to effectively organize and manage the player development process.
